Ma Yi Shang Shu (Ants Climbing Trees)



This traditional Chinese cuisine has a unique name and sound poetic, which can be translated into "Ants Climbing Trees". This food is named so because the sticky pieces of minced meat on the noodles resembles a speck of ants that were trying to climb a tree.
Ma Yi Shang Shu is a Sichuan cuisine that is famous for its delicious taste and spiciness. This dish consists of finely chopped beef that is stir fried with various seasoning herbs, spices, pepper, and cayenne to make it very spicy, but tasted amazingly good.

Wonton


"Wonton" is a kind of dumplings served in a bowl of soup. The wonton is usually filled with fish, chicken, or shrimp, and wrapped with a smooth, silky outer layer made from flour. The food itself has been known since the period of the Tang dynasty in the seventh century, and has always served to celebrate the winter solstice.
Triangular shaped wonton is often compared to "Tortellini", atypical of Italian cuisine. Wonton dipped into warm, spicy and sour soup sometimes served as fried Wonton. This cuisine is great to be served as the appetizer as well as the main course.


Gong Bao Chicken


This dish is not only delicious, but also has beautiful colors when presented on a serving plate with garnishes that surrounds it. Gong Bao Chicken is one of the most typical Chinese food that is popular among foreign tourists. The small-sized sliced chicken is cooked with soy sauce and Chinese seasonings, and served with dried chilly and roasted peanuts.
Considering its popularity and delicacy, many western restaurants decided to include Gong Bao Chicken into their menu. There is also Western version of this cuisine, where the tapioca starch, sweet and sour sauce, and a little garlic are usually added as seasonings.

Ma Po Tofu


Although this dish is made only with simple ingredients, never underestimates its delicacy. Ma Po Tofu is able to get into the elite ranks of world cuisines and named as one of the most delicious food in the world. This cuisine is also known as one of the most popular Chinese food in the world, and usually eaten as a main dish with a bowl of fragrant white rice. To make it more impressive, Ma Po Tofu also has a 100-year old history.
Ma Po Tofu has a very spicy flavor created by rich variety of condiments in the cuisine. The soft tofu is fried along with pepper powder, a little cayenne, and served with ground beef and slices of onion. Yummy ... this food must be very tasty!


Jiaozi (Dumplings)


Jiaozi is more familiar to be recognized with the name "dumpling", a kind of cuisine that exists in most part of the worlds. This is actually quite a simple cuisine. Boiled and seasoned chicken or shrimp wrapped with a mixture of flour and starch as its outer layer. The Jiaozi is later shaped in small size, so that it can be eaten in a single gulp.
Jiaozi are Chinese food that thousands of years of history. Besides steamed, in some part of China, Jiaozi is cooked by frying it and served with a special sauces that make its deliciousness to increase tenfold.

Bingtanghulu


For those of you who like to watch Chinese movies, you should be familiar with a scene where young children buy food from street vendors. Yes, Bingtanghulu is one of the Chinese traditional candy and very popular among young people. Besides having a sweet flavor, Bingtanghulu is also shaped very beautiful and colorful.
Basically, this food is made from dried fruits such as apple and cherry, then dipped in a melted sugar. The sugar coat of the fruit then would naturally harden and creates the outer layer of Bingtanghulu. Bingtanghulu is one of the most popular Chinese food to be sold during winter season.
 

Peking Duck (Beijing Kao Ya)


Peking duck is the most delicious Chinese food that has been recognized throughout the world. Because of its super delicious taste, this food is also known as a dish for the king. Yes, duck meat that has sweet taste is served in thin slices, covered with sweet and sour sauce and roasted until its color turns golden-brownish. This food was eaten with a special sauce, which is very tasty.
